Obituary

Anthony J. Raspa, 98, of Bayville, died peacefully at home with his loving family at his side. Born and raised in Newark, he moved to Lake Hiwatha before retiring to Bayville in 1981. Mr. Raspa was employed as a machinist with Thomas Edison Company and then worked with H&H Thermostat and Emerson Electric Company in Cedar Grove. He proudly served his country in the US Navy and served aboard several different Vessels and Stations during World War II. He was a learned mechanic and was always helping others with their mechanical problems. He loved tinkering with and enjoyed fixing most everything. He was a true renaissance man. He is predeceased by his wife of 68 years Raffela in 2014, and by his son Nicholas in 1998, and his siblings, Anna Pinto, Marie Durham, Louis Raspa, Michael Raspa and James Raspa.
Surviving are two children; Rosemarie Bini and John Raspa and his wife Gail; two grandsons, Jon Raspa and Vincent Raspa; his brother Victor Raspa and many nieces and nephews.

His memory will forever be his family’s keepsake which will never part. God now has him in his keeping and we will always have him in our heart.

Out of an abundance of caution during these trying times, we ask family and friends that you send your condolences and prayers from the safety of your homes. There will be a memorial service planned for the future. Funeral services are private with the family with burial at St. Joseph Cemetery in Toms River under the direction of Mastapeter Memorial Home in Bayville. In lieu of flowers, donations in Anthony’s memory to either; Caregiver Volunteers of Central Jersey https://caregivervolunteers.org/ or to: Meals On Wheels of Ocean County http://csimow.org/, would be appreciated.
