Vincenza Butow, 94, passed peacefully with the Grace of Our Lord Jesus Christ and the support of her loving family on September 25, 2021. Vincenza was born in Toms River, New Jersey on November 17, 1926 to Anna and Vincenzo Purpuri. She was a beloved and loyal Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Great-Great Grandmother and Aunt. She always loved and gave herself foremost to her family and so adored all those grandchildren, greats and great-greats.
She was a life long member of Saint Joseph Church and the Rosary Altar Society. She spent many years in devoted service for the care of her beloved Saint Joseph Church. She loved serving as a way to show her devotion to Jesus and His Blessed Mother Mary.
Vincenza so enjoyed traveling and visiting with her family here and there. She was a cherished and trusted friend. She was very caring and sharing throughout her life.
She is survived by her eight children: Raymond (Virginia), Paul (Rosemary), Marie Cantalupo (Gerald), Veronica, Edward (Leisa), Charles, Theresa Cooper (Gary), and Victoria; also nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Victoria Purpuri, Lucia Purpuri and Rose Erbe, sisters-in-law, Doryce Purpuri and Joan Purpuri, and brother-in-law: Henry Butow (Anne).
She was predeceased by her husband Paul, brothers Joseph and Rosario (Chic), brothers-in-law, Edward Butow and Charles Erbe, son-in-law Michael and granddaughter Suzanne Cantalupo.
Services for Vincenza are going to be held on Monday October 4, 2021 from 4-7pm at Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd Bayville, NJ 08721. A Funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph's Church, Toms River on Tuesday at 10am with a burial to follow at 12:30 at W.C.D.B.G Cemetery Wrightstown, NJ.
