Velma Bruner

Ms. Velma Bruner, 83, born in Meridian, MS in 1937 passed away after sharing loving thoughts with her grandchildren June 4, 2021 in Bricktown, NJ with her son by her side. She retired from the Ocean County Board of Social Services where she worked in the Director’s Office as an employee benefits clerk. She was a graduate of Ocean County College with her Associate’s degree. She is survived by her son and his wife Mr. Grady & Mrs. Susan Toughill of Pine Beach, her grandchildren Mr. Tyler Toughill and Mrs. Ashleigh Britton and her husband Mr. William Britton. She was anticipating the birth of her first great granddaughter. She was one of six sisters. She is left by her surviving sister Hilda of Mississippi and sister-in-law, Eileen of Bayville and all of her nieces and nephews and their families. In her retired years, she spent many hours crocheting gifts for those she loved and was an avid cat lover. She helped and cared for cats in need. She leaves her cats Inky and Janie. A quiet family burial will replace services.  In lieu of flowers, please donate in honor of her to a cat rescue or the ASPCA. The family appreciates your thoughtful remembrances which can be left on the website. We love her always!
