Thomas Carrano Obituary

Thomas Anthony Carrano was born on January 3, 1942, in Elizabeth, NJ to his loving parents, Pasquale and Palma Carrano. He went home to be with the Lord peacefully on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at the age of 83, surrounded by his loving family at Community Medical Center in Toms River.

He was born and raised in Elizabeth, NJ and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1960. On May 5th, 1968, he married his loving wife and best friend Nalda. They later relocated to Colonia for a brief time before moving to Edison, where they raised their beautiful family. He gave his life to Christ in the late 1980’s and has served God faithfully since and loved sharing his faith with others. He was a proud member of Local 194, spending most of his career as a salesman for Wonder Bread. Tom always went the extra mile to serve his customers with excellence and had a lasting influence on everyone he met. Upon retiring in 2001, he and his wife moved to Bayville, NJ and have been there since.

Before completely retiring, he worked at Hess gas station in Bayville and touched many lives, making friendships that have lasted a lifetime. He loved watching baseball and football and all the local NY teams. Also, Tom loved hanging out at Wawa and getting coffee with all his friends, as well as taking walks on the boardwalk with his family. He always had a love for singing and listening to the oldies and Gospel music. He had a very gifted singing voice, leading to many opportunities to sing in the H.S. Glee club and various Doo Wop Bands over the years. You would always see Tom in church singing and dancing as he praised and thanked the Lord. As he would say, “My personal Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.”

Singing and listening to music was one of his greatest joys, but truly his greatest joy was spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, family, and friends. Tom brought joy to everyone he met and was known for his beautiful smile, larger than life personality, and the kindness he always had for others. He always put the needs of others before himself and loved simply sitting around the table telling stories, always making sure you never left his house hungry. Tom had a special impact on everyone that he met here on earth and for eternity.

He was predeceased by his parents, Pasquale and Palma Carrano and brothers, Nicholas, Alfred, Michael and Frank, as well as his beautiful sisters Antionette, Mildred and Josephine. He is survived by his beautiful wife of 58 years, Nalda Carrano, daughter Pam Cappabianca and her husband Joseph Cappabianca of Toms River, son Thomas Carrano, Jr of Bayville and daughter Denise Kale of Bayville. He has 7 grandchildren; Anthony, Michael, Isabella, Angelina, Jonathan, Reiley and Autumn and the many wonderful nephews and nieces whom he loved.
