Thomas Daniel Callery

Thomas (Tom) D. Callery, 78, of Bayville, NJ passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, April 8, 2025. Born in Jersey City, he was the loving son of Joseph and Marge Callery.

Tom served in the US Army, stationed in Korea. He then worked as an associate engineer for AT&T for many years. In 1990, he married the love of his life, Mary Ann. They moved to Bridgewater where they lived happily for 28 years before finally settling in Bayville. Tom greatly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great- granddaughter, who were truly his pride and joy. Tom had the biggest heart and was easily brought to tears when watching his grandchildren’s achievements.

Tom loved to dance – oftentimes showing off his skills with Mary Ann during public gatherings - and had a great sense of humor. His love for fun and family made every holiday gathering a great time to remember. Tom was a member of The American Legion Post #129 in Toms River, NJ.

Tom will be deeply missed by his wife, along with all of their loving children; Debi Szaro, Diane & Stephen Anton, Robert (Bob) Ruscus, and Susan & Ray Milewski. He will also be missed by his beloved grandchildren: Danielle, Robyn, Kathryn, Raymond, Alexandra, Rosemary and his great-granddaughter, Liliana. Tom also leaves behind his brother, Joseph Callery and his nephew, Stephen; along with his niece, Paige & Tim Ryan and their 3 children (Madison, Brendan and Devin.)

Visitation for family and friends will be on April 14th, 2025 from 5:00-8:00pm at Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville, NJ 08721, with a prayer service at 7:30pm. Military Honors will be at 7:30pm at the Funeral Home .

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
