Therese “Terry” Good-Irabli passed away comfortably on the evening of August 9, 2024, at the age of 66. Terry was born in Jersey City and grew up in Hazlet. She attended Jersey City State College, where she met her husband, Nick, and earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Special Education.
Terry was a nurturer by identity. She served children with disabilities as a teacher of special education for over 30 years, many of which were spent with the Long Branch School District. She ended her celebrated career in 2017 and began a well-deserved retirement marked by lots of cruises. The number of students’ lives that she touched throughout her career was unmatched. She led with compassion, patience, and love, taking great pride in training teachers to harness and nurture their passions for children with special needs.
Terry is survived by the love of her life, her husband Nick, of 43 years, her three children, Candy, Marisa, and Nicky, her two sons-in-law, Steve and John, and her beloved grandson, Miles. She will be dearly missed. She is now with her brother Billy, who loved her deeply and never missed an opportunity to tease her about what a “goody-two-shoes” she was, and her first dog, Waldo. Her version of Heaven would include unlimited cups of hot coffee, perfect hair and hot pink nails, I Love Lucy’ marathons, and Elton John playing in the background.
A Memorial Gathering for family and friends will be offered on Friday Aug. 16th, from 5pm to 7pm, with a Prayer Service at 6:30pm, in the Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville.
