Stephanie “Pulos” Jensen, 55, of Ocean Gate, passed away on March 24, 2021, with her loving family at her side. She was born in Newark, but was a lifelong resident of Ocean Gate. Stephanie shaped the lives of thousands of students in her 33 years as a mathematics teacher at Lacey Township High School prior to her retirement earlier this year. She was a graduate of Georgian Court University and later received her Masters degree from Jersey City State College. Stephanie was a track and cross-country coach until the birth of her first child. She also enjoyed boating, running, and skiing, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family. Stephanie always said that she loved being a mother first and dedicated her life to her children and husband. She was predeceased by her father, Spiro Pulos in 2013.
Surviving is her husband of 28 years, Douglas Jensen; three children, Samantha Jensen and husband Bret Viola, Douglas Jensen Jr., and Alexis Jensen; her loving mother, Eva Pulos and five siblings, Michele Hawkins, Donna Pulos and partner John Bensch, Denise Papiernik and husband Brian, Lisa Yannazzone and husband Lou, and Christopher Pulos and wife Cheryl, and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be Monday Mar. 29th, from 4pm to 8pm at the Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Boulevard in Bayville. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to meet and attend at St. Barnabas Church, 33 Woodland Rd., Bayville, to celebrate an 11am Funeral Mass on Tuesday, Mar. 30th. Burial will follow to St. Joseph Cemetery in Toms River. In lieu of flowers, donations for cancer research to: Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital, (giving.mskcc.org), would be appreciated.
