Samuel Z. Wolobah was born in Monrovia, Liberia, West Africa, to Mr. James W. Wolobah (deceased) and Mrs. Kebah Wolobah. Samuel is survived by his beloved wife and best friend, Mrs. Nickay D. Scott-Wolobah, and their three children, Nicky, Miketta, and Shem. He is also survived by his brothers, Pewee Wolobah and Olando Wolobah, and his sister, Garmai Wolobah. He
was predeceased by his brother, James Wolobah, and his sister, Yassah Wolobah. Samuel leaves behind numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and friends.
Samuel began his academic journey in 1970 at the Barclay Training Center (BTC) School. After a year, he enrolled at the Episcopal Church Elementary School between Camp Johnson Road and McDonald Street in 1971. From 1972 to 1973, he attended Cecil Dennis Elementary School. In 1973, his parents enrolled him at Totota Lutheran Mission in Totota, Bong County,
where he studied until 1974. The family then moved to Voinjama, Lofa County, where Samuel attended Voinjama Free Pentecostal Mission School from 1974 to 1979, completing his junior high education.
In 1980, a pivotal year in Liberian history, Samuel enrolled at the Lutheran Training Institute, where he obtained his high school diploma. His determination and support from family members, especially his uncle John M. Kollie (who predeceased him), enabled him to matriculate at Cuttington University College in 1985. Samuel later traveled to the United States to
further his education, enrolling at Mercer College from 2001 to 2002, where he earned his master’s degree in science security. Samuel met his wife in 1995, and they married on July 27, 2003. They shared a loving marriage until his passing on July 3, 2024, at 8:00 am.
From an early age, Sam displayed a deep sense of responsibility and dedication to his family and friends. His kind heart and generous spirit were evident in every interaction, leaving a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know him. Whether it was through his work, his community involvement, or the everyday acts of kindness he performed, Sam embodied the true essence of a life well-lived. His laughter was infectious, his wisdom profound, and his love unconditional. Sam’s commitment to his family was unwavering, and he took immense pride in his roles as a husband, father, and son. He instilled values of integrity, perseverance, and empathy in his children, ensuring that his legacy would continue through them.
In moments of joy and in times of hardship, Sam was a steadfast source of support and guidance. His presence brought comfort and his words, solace. Though he is no longer with us in person, the lessons he imparted will continue to inspire and guide us.
As we gather to honor his memory, we celebrate not just the man he was, but the incredible legacy he leaves behind. Sam’s life was a testament to the power of love, the importance of community, and the enduring strength of the human spirit.
We find solace in knowing that he now rests in peace, free from pain and suffering. And while we mourn his loss, we also cherish the beautiful memories and the indelible mark he made on our lives. Samuel Z. Wolobah may have left this world, but his memories will remain with us forever.
Rest in peace, Sam. You will be greatly missed, but never forgotten!
