Rose Falanga of Beachwood, NJ passed away Tuesday morning February 16, 2021 in the comfort of her home 2 months shy of her 96th birthday. Rose was born in Brooklyn, NY where she met Francis, her beloved husband of 66 years. Together they raised their family in Staten Island, NY before moving to Beachwood where they lived for 39 years. Rose was an active member of St. Barnabas Church of Beachwood.
Rose was a devoted wife, mother and home maker and together with Francis she raised three children. Rose was also a talented dress designer and seamstress and together with her sister Josephine they launched "BACALDARO Modes", a custom dress design shop in Staten Island.
Rose's home away from home was Sanibel Island, Florida and it was there that she was truly in her element. She enjoyed collecting shells, taking long strolls on the beach with Francis and besting many of the local fisherman, including Francis. It was there that she landed the trophy snook that "got away" to everyone's envy.
Rose's Beachwood home is a tribute to her love of family for it is filled with pictures of cherished moments with everyone that she held dear. It is also a testament to her creativity and talent as it is adorned with meticulously made hand crafted keepsakes, including tapestry, needlepoint, shell crafts and a million little treasures of a life well lived.
Rose is predeceased by her mother Anna, her father Angelo "Al", sister Josephine, brother Frank and darling husband Francis. She is survived by her loving children and their spouses: Bartholomew Falanga and his wife Heidi, Allan Falanga and his wife Melanie, Roseanne Carello and her husband Joseph. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Christopher Falanga and his wife Michelle, Alexander Falanga, Nicholas Falanga and his wife Sarah, Joseph Carello and his wife Deirdre, Rachel Carello and John Carello. Rose was also the proud great grandmother of Dylan Michael Falanga, Aureila Rose Falanga, and Ava Rose Carello.
