Rose A. Besante, 96, of Beachwood, NJ passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October 4,2025 with her loving family by her side. Born and raised in Jersey City, NJ, Rose enjoyed summers with her family in Seaside Heights before moving permanently to Beachwood in 1991. 


She is the beloved wife of the late Michael A Besante, the cherished mother of Michael J. Besante (the late Julia) of Beachwood, John Besante (Lu Ann) of Scotch Plains, the adored grandmother of Mary Highton (Tom), Jamie Scomak (Justin), Michael G. and Melissa, the treasured great grandmother of Teddy, Lucy, and Julian, and wonderful aunt to nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her loving siblings; sister Carmelena Verga, and brothers Ralph, Anthony and Monsignor Joseph Loreti.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 14, at 11am in Holy Rosary Church, Jersey City. Burial will follow to Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City. In lieu if flowers, donations in Rose’s name to: Holy Rosary Church, 344 Sixth St, Jersey City, NJ 07304, or St. John’s Soup Kitchen, 22 Mulberry St, Newark, NJ 07102, would be appreciated.


Arrangements are under the direction of Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville, NJ 08721.
