Robert Urban, age 78, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 21st, 2021, at Samaritan Center Hospice in Mount Holly. He was born August 7th, 1943 in South Amboy to Michael Urban and Claire (Sadowski) Urban. Though lacking in formal education, his aptitude and intelligence allowed him the opportunity to build his own business from the ground up, becoming the proud owner of the successful mold and tooling manufactory, Urban Tool and Mold Corp. (UTM Corp.), in the late 1970’s. His business allowed him the space to practice his determination and perseverance in methodically producing a multitude of injection molds at the behest of his many customers.
On May 2nd, 1964, he married AnnaJean Longo, having two sons and two daughters together, raising themin South Amboy, Jackson, and Freehold, New Jersey. On October 23rd, 1993, he married his second wife, Suzanne Allen, having one son together, raising him in Bayville, New Jersey. As a father, he was always certain to place the needs of his family before his own, going above and beyond to ensure that they were well-cared for and ever-content. He had a patient and peaceful demeanor that was authentic in every respect, both inward and outward. The wit of his humor and his pragmatic sense of wisdom made every interaction with him, be it large or small, a moment to be remembered. He is survived by his former spouse, Suzanne, and their child, Daniel Urban; the children from AnnaJean, his first wife, Therese Lugo and her husband,Anthony, Michael Urban and his wife, Cristina, Sherise Buhagiar and her husband, John, and Robert Urban and his wife, Kim; and 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
A viewing for friends and family will be held on December 28th from 7pm-9pm at Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville, NJ 08721. Burial will occur at Saint Gertrude’s Cemetery and Mausoleum, 53 Inman Ave, Colonia, NJ 07067 at 12pm.
