Robert D. Bennett

Robert D. Bennett, 87, of Pine Beach, died on May 28, 2023. He was born and raised in Ararat, Virginia and moved to Pine Beach in the mid 1960’s. Mr. Bennett was in the Trucking industry driving and hauling for various trucking firms, lastly working at Suffolk Redi Mix Company in South Toms River. Robert devoted his time to help disabled children by way of his diligent and dedicated membership in the B.P.O.Elks Lodge #2394 of Bayville. He is a life member and held many positions within the fraternity and had served as Past Exalted Ruler. He was predeceased by his first wife Josephine, and by his son Bobby, his daughter Betty, and his sister Faye.

Surviving is his wife Geraldine, his brother Earl and his wife Carol, his son John and his wife Lillian, his stepchildren, Edward Kearney and his wife Cheryl, Mary DiBenedetti and her husband Vincent and Michael Kearney and his wife Elaine, his grandchildren, April, Vinnie, Michelle, Michael, Taryn Emily, Donald, and Andy, his great grandchildren, Lilly, CJ, Anthony, Hunter, Sierra and Nico.

Funeral arrangements are private with the family under the direction of Mastapeter Memorial Home (mastapetermemorialhome.com) in Bayville. For expressions of condolence, donations in Robert’s memory to: St. Jude Children’s Hospital (stjude.org), would be appreciated.
