Richard Boyle Obituary

Richard Cornelius Boyle passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on January 6th, 2024. He was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather. Richard was born to John and Margaret Boyle (née Vereb) on February 23rd, 1940 in Elizabeth, New Jersey. He had one half-brother, John, and one sister, Elaine. 

Richard enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1959 and served in 2nd Battalion, of the 10th Marine Regiment. He was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps in 1965 with the rank of Lance Corporal.

After serving in the United States Marine Corps, Richard met Lorraine Naughton at their workplace. The two quickly fell in love and were married on July 5th, 1968 in Point Pleasant, NJ. Richard and Lorraine eventually settled in Ogdensburg, NJ where they had a son, Russell, and a daughter, Christina. In the 1980s, Richard and Lorraine moved to Bayville, New Jersey where they remained for the rest of their lives. Later in life, Richard loved spending time with his grandson Colin. He spent much of his time taking him on fishing, antiquing, and bird watching trips all over New Jersey.

Richard was preceded in passing by his parents, John and Margaret, his half-brother, John Boyle, and his loving wife, Lorraine. He is survived by his sister, Elaine Cunningham (née Boyle), his two children, Russell and Christina Boyle, his three grandchildren, Matthew Hipsley, Krista DiGiacomo, and Colin Goodheart, and his nieces and nephews, Lisa Lange, Kenneth Naughton, Michael Naughton, and Jennifer Cunningham (goddaughter).
