Philip P. Greiner Jr., 73, of Beachwood, passed away on March 15, 2025. Phil was born in Newark, NJ but currently resides in Beachwood, NJ. He was employed with Verizon, of Toms River for many years before retiring. Upon retirement he then worked as VIP Security PNC Banks Arts Center in Holmdel. To Phil, family was his whole world, especially his grandchildren Abigail and Bradley.
Mr. Greiner is survived by his wife Jane Ellen Greiner and by his children Philip Greiner III and his daughter Carrie Ann Hayden, along with his grandchildren Abigail and Bradley.
From Philip (his son): “To say my father was a great man feels inadequate. His large physical presence was only surpassed by the largeness of his kindness and gentleness. To so many of those who had the pleasure of knowing him, he was a second father. To others, a beloved source of banter and happiness. He played an irreplaceable role in the lives of so many of us. He was a selfless father and a source of refuge. His unwavering care for those around him shaped my understanding of masculinity. His dedication to ensuring the happiness and safety of those he loved left a lasting impression. While his passing has left an overwhelming sense of loss, it has also deepened my appreciation for the man I was so extremely fortunate to call my best friend throughout my life.”
From Carrie Ann (his daughter): “My Dad was my everything; my rock. He was like a dad to his grandchildren, and they are so blessed to have experienced his love, kindness and gentle soul. His world revolved around them. There wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for us. Anyone that ever met my dad instantly knew he was one of a kind. Fondly known as “Big Phil,” “Papa Phil,” “Mr. G,” and his most favorite “Gramps.” Because of him, my children Abigail & Bradley knew unconditional love and were shown what Fatherly love was supposed to look like. I am forever grateful for his unwavering love, support and endless devotion to us.”
A viewing will be held on Sunday, March 23, 2025, from 12pm-3pm at Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd, Bayville, NJ 08721.
