Nancy “Merlino” Salerno, 82, of Bayville, formerly of the Bronx and Long Island, died peacefully at home on November 9, 2021, with her loving family at her bedside. Born in Manhattan, she was raised in the Bronx and lived in Long Island before moving to Bayville "New Jersey" in 1998. She was a graduate of Julia Richmond Junior High School in New York and then she graduated from James Monroe High School in the Bronx. Nancy worked in banking at Lincoln Savings in Manhattan, then was an assistant to the President of Commerce Bank in Manhattan. She had retired as an Account Executive with Marketing Development Company in New York. Nancy was a deeply devoted, loving, and caring woman who will be dearly missed. She had been predeceased by her son Raymond Lopez, Jr. in 1987 and her sister-in-law Rose Merlino in 2009.
Surviving is, her devoted husband, Richard N. Salerno, two loving stepchildren, Nicole Salerno-Farrell and her husband Sean Vincent, and Richard F. Salerno; also, her cherished brother Fred Merlino, nephew Frank Merlino and Marge Nahrwold. Nancy loved her many wonderful cousins, extended family, and trusted friends.
Visiting hours will be Saturday, Nov. 13th, from 12noon to 3pm, with a Prayer Service at 2pm, in the Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to The American Cancer Society.
