Michael C. Cottrell

Michael “Mike” C. Cottrell Sr. passed away on Sunday, August 8th, 2021 due to GIST cancer. Just like he dealt with all experiences in life, Mike managed his illness with strength and grace, and wanted to spend as much time with his loved ones as possible. On his final day, he was surrounded by his two children, whom he adored more than anything else in the world.

One of my Mike’s proudest accomplishments was being a father. He had always wanted children and considered himself lucky enough to have twins, Michael “Mikey” C. Cottrell Jr. whom he worked side by side within the pool business, and Allison “Ally” N. Cottrell whom he saw graduate nursing school and accept a position as an RN in the NICU at JSUMC. His children saw their dad as a superhero, and even as adults, still see him that way. He was always there for them through their ups and downs and taught them to live their lives with passion and enjoy every moment it has to offer.

Aside from being survived by his children, Michael “Mikey” C. Cottrell Jr. and Allison “Ally” N. Cottrell, he also leaves behind his Mother, Marion E. Cottrell who he admired dearly. Also, leaving behind nieces and nephews who he loved and adored, and a very special friend, Mary C. Story. Preceded in death by his treasured Father, Charles C. Cottrell and beloved sister, Marcelle G. Mele.

The service will be held on Thursday, August 19, 2020 at Mastapeter Memorial Home, Inc. located at 270 Atlantic City Blvd, Bayville, NJ 08721. The service will be from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM. His family will be present to welcome loved ones.
