Mary Joyce Wiercinski, 82, of Toms River, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home on April 15, 2026 surrounded by her family.
Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, Mary spent her life rooted in family and community. She lived in Belleville, Lyndhurst, and North Arlington before eventually settling in Toms River and later Berkeley Township, where she built a life filled with love, service, and lasting friendships.
Mary was an amazing wife, devoted mother, cherished Mema, and loyal friend to so many. Her giving spirit was evident in her more than 20 years of volunteer service as an EMT with North Arlington First Aid and Silverton First Aid in Toms River. She dedicated herself to helping others in their times of greatest need, a reflection of her compassionate and selfless nature.
A woman of deep faith, Mary was an active parishioner at Saint Justin’s and Maximillian Kolbe, where she was a proud member of the Rosary Society. Her faith guided her life and strengthened the many relationships she held dear.
Mary found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved to travel, especially cruising, which was her favorite way to explore and relax. She enjoyed playing the slots, attending plays, and had a special place in her heart for animals. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family, especially cheering on her grandchildren at their sporting events and watching the Giants and Yankees alongside her beloved husband, Jimmy.
She is survived by her loving husband, James; her son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Sandy; her daughter and son-in-law, Jaime and Ray; and her adored grandchildren, Mason, Lexi, Kirsten, Makenna, Sophia, and Madden. She also leaves behind her cherished four-legged companions, Luna, Lizzy, and Lefty.
Mary’s legacy is one of love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to family and community. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
