Mary Vera Grossi, 95, of Pine beach, died on Thursday, February 8, in her home. She was born on December 12, 1928, to Lester and Margaret Watson in Bogota, NJ.
She married the love of her life, Charles Grossi, on October 27, 1956 and they had two children, Margaret (Trengrove) and Charles (Grossi).
Mary devoted her life to first raising her own children, and then as an active and dedicated grandmother to her seven grandchildren. Throughout her very long life she could also be found volunteering her time and love in many ways, ranging from aiding fundraisers for Animal Birth Control, taking in the garbage cans for neighbors, making a meal for someone in need, or sitting with whomever needed a friendly chat. Mary was a generous person whose enormous heart somehow fit inside of her petite body.
Mary is survived by her two cats, Peaches and Patches, whom she loved dearly, as well as her children, Maggie and Chuck, her daughter-in-law, Eydie, and her seven grandchildren, Abigail (Kulzy) and her husband, Michael, Miles (Trengrove), and his wife, Amalia, Breeana (Mernone), and her husband, Mark, Noah (Trengrove), Hannah (Staskowski), and her husband, Robert, Luke (Trengrove), and his wife, Christina, and Evan (Grossi), and his fiancée, Courtney. She also leaves behind her ten great-grandchildren, plus one on the way: Kayla, Alyssa, Anthony, and Kathryn (Kulzy), Maia, Grace, Roman, Scarlett, and Penelope (Trengrove), and Josephine (Mernone). Mila (Staskowski) will join the family later this month. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, whom she loved like her own children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie, all of her siblings and their spouses, her beloved son-in-law, Edward C. Trengrove, Jr., and her great-grandson, Brody Trengrove.
