Mary "Nicoletti" DeCarlo Obituary
Mary DeCarlo, 95, of Bayville, died peacefully at home with her loving family at her side. Born in Weehawkin and raised in Englewood, Mary also lived in Union City before moving to Bayville in 1972. She was a businesswoman who owned and operated, with her son Richard, Richard’s SubWorld and Deli in Bayville since 1976. Mary’s zest for life was simple; work hard, eat well, and spend time with loving family and friends. She lived by the deep faith she believed in, and was a dedicated parishioner of St. Barnabas Church in Bayville.
Mary was predeceased by her parents, Ralph and Nancy Nicoletti, and by her sister Gladys LaGuardia.
Surviving is her son Richard DeCarlo and his devoted wife Robin; three grandchildren, Riana DeCarlo, Richard DeCarlo, Jr. and his wife Ihara, and Quentin DeCarlo and his fiancé Macey; three great grandchildren, Tali, Richie and Grace; and her best friend of 88 years, Frances DeCarlo.
Visiting hours for relatives and friends will be offered on Friday, May 15th from 6pm to 8pm at the Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville. Funeral Saturday, 9:30am at the funeral home, then leave to celebrate a Funeral Mass at 11am in St. Barnabas Church, 33 Woodland Rd., Bayville.
In lieu of flowers, donations made in Mary’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital (stjude.org) would be appreciated.
