Mary Ciandella, 87, of Beachwood, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family on January 6, 2023. Born and raised in Jersey City, she moved to Hoboken where she raised her family, moving to Beachwood 9 years ago. Mary was employed with the City of Hoboken as a Crossing Guard with over 25 years of service before retiring. She enjoyed her trips to Florida, AC, crabbing and walking along the sandy beaches of the Jersey Shores. She also was very creative and had a talent for oil and water paintings and sewing. Mary was a beautiful soul who cherished her family and will be dearly missed. Her husband Charles predeceased her in 1997. She was also predeceased by her parents Bruno and Leonora Bomenka and her three siblings Rose, Johnny and Eugene.
Surviving are two sons, Anthony Ricciardi and his companion Patricia, and Gerard Ciandella and his wife Charlene; four grandchildren, Christopher Ricciardi, Tonianne Ricciardi, Nicole Gerhart and her husband Ross and Jessica Ciandella and her companion Enrique; two great grandchildren, Sofia and Griffin.
Visiting hours will be Wednesday, Jan. 10th, from 5pm to 9pm at the Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville. Funeral Thursday, 8:30am at the funeral home before celebrating a 9:30am Funeral Mass at St. Barnabas Church, 33 Woodland Road, Bayville. Entombment will follow to Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
