Martin Donald Schmidt

Martin D. Schmidt, 80, of Bayville, NJ passed away on January 28, 2026. Born in Orange, NJ and lived in Pine Beach before moving to Bayville. He was a Central Regional High School student Class of 1964. 

Martin proudly served his Country in the US Navy in the Vietnam War in 1964-1966. He worked for 30 years for IBM and the Lacey Township School District for 12 years. Mr. Schmidt was a member of the Historical Society of Berkeley Township, and an Usher at St. Barnaba Church in Bayville. Martin enjoyed restoring vintage electronics and also furniture. He loved being at the beach and floating in the pool.  

Mr. Schmidt is predeceased by his parents George and Elsie Schmidt, his brothers George Schmidt and James Schmidt. Surviving is his beloved wife Carol Schmidt, two sons, Philipp and his wife Wendy Schmidt and Douglas Schmidt, many nieces, nephews and great nephews.  

Funeral Mass Friday, January 30, 2026, at 11:00am at St. Barnabas Church, 33 Woodland Rd., Bayville, NJ, followed by Burial at Gate of Heaven, 225 Ridgedale Ave., East Hanover, NJ.
