Marlene Annarumma Obituary

Marlene Annarumma, 82, of Forked River, passed away on February 25, 2025.

Born in Englewood, NJ, and raised in Dumont, Marlene spent many years in Ringwood before moving to Bayville and, most recently, residing in Forked River for the past seven years. She was a 1960 graduate of the Academy of Holy Angels in Fort Lee and later earned an associate degree from Ocean County College.

Marlene had a successful career in sales and management, working at Macy’s in Paramus and Lord & Taylor in the Monmouth Mall before transitioning into advertising sales with the Asbury Park Press/Gannett.

A gifted painter and sketch artist, Marlene had an incredible talent for bringing beauty to life through her art. She was a creative spirit who found joy in expressing herself on canvas and paper. She also cherished time spent with loved ones, whether playing board games with family and friends or cooking together in the kitchen. Her warmth and kindness touched the hearts of many, and she was deeply loved by all who knew her.

Marlene is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Vinny; her three children, Mark and his wife, Dawn, Scott and his wife, Ann, and Linette Vollaro and her husband, Al; her four grandchildren, Jess, Mark, Dylan, and Alexis; and her four great-grandchildren, Mason, Miles, Remi, and Vivian. She is also survived by her two brothers, Lennard Amberger and his wife, Judy, and Ronald and his wife, Jing, as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Arrangements are under the direction of Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville, NJ 08721. A celebration of life will be held at a later date for family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marlene’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org) and The Salvation Army (salvationarmyusa.org).
