Marie Grosso Obituary

Marie “DeSalvo” Grosso, 92, of Bayville, died suddenly and peacefully at home on April 29, 2021. Born and raised in Bronx, New York, she lived and raised her family in Fair Lawn before retiring to Bayville many years ago. Mrs. Grosso was employed in the Human Resource Department of Macy’s Department store in Paramus for over 30 years before retiring. Also, while working there, she was an Admission Agent for many engagements at the Meadowlands Complex in East Rutherford. Marie was a special lady who will be dearly missed. She loved traveling, shopping, and taking trips to A/C. She had been predeceased by her beloved husband of 63 years, Alex Sr., in 2017

Surviving are two children; Alex Jr. and his wife Lisa, Alison Jablonski and her husband Donald; four grandchildren, Alex III, Peter and his wife Brittany, Donald and Missy; one great grandson Jake; also surviving is two sisters-in-law’s Kathleen DeSalvo and Caroline Grosso and her lifelong dear friend Joan Verebes.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend and celebrate a 11AM funeral Mass on Thursday, May 6th, at St. Barnabas Church, 33 Woodland Road, Bayville NJ 08721. Burial of cremains will follow to Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Rd., Wrightstown NJ 08562. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marie’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital (stjude.org), would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements are in the care of Mastapeter Memorial Home, Bayville (mastapetermemorialhome.com).
