Margaret “Peg” A. Potter, 83, of Ocean Gate passed away peacefully at home with her loving family by her side on August 8, 2025. She was born and raised in Elizabeth, NJ and has been a resident of Ocean Gate since 1958. Mrs. Potter was an administrator employed at Ocean County Department of Finance in Toms River, retiring after many years of service. Prior to that she was a supervisor for the First National Bank of Toms River. Later in life she worked in the cafeteria at Central Regional High School in Bayville.
She enjoyed being a homemaker and was a wonderful baker. Peg volunteered her time with the Ocean Gate First Aid Squad Auxiliary. Margaret was a devoted parishioner of St. Barnabas Church in Bayville and lived a very active lifestyle with family and friends.
Peg is predeceased by her beloved husband Clyde with whom she took loving care of him in his later years. Surviving are her 3 sons, Kevin Potter and his wife Andrea Amante, Tim and his girlfriend Ginny Procaccini and Ken Potter and his wife Jody, 3 grandchildren, Zachary, Samantha, and Zoe, 2 sisters, MaryEllen Hammonds and her husband Bill, and Faith Rife and her husband Rick, and also her best friend Zoey.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend and meet at St. Barnabas Church, 33 Woodland Rd., Bayville to celebrate a 11:00am Funeral Mass. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, 62 Cedar Grove Rd., Toms River. Arrangements are under the direction of Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville.
