Mae A. Colucci, 96, of Toms River, died peacefully at home with her loving family at her side, on August 31, 2023. Born in Ashley Pennsylvania, she was raised and lived most of her life in Roselle Park before moving to Toms River in 1991. Mae was employed as a telephone switchboard operator for the old Bell Telephone Company in Newark before leaving to raise her family. She was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Faitoute Avenue Hose Company of the Roselle Park Fire Department. She also was a member of the Happy Hookers knitting club of Holiday Heights in Toms River. Mae was predeceased by her husband Robert in 2015 and by her two granddaughters, Michelle Lachance and Pamela Gorman and by her two sisters, Myrtle and Marion.
Surviving are her six children; Robert Colucci, James Colucci and his friend Conrado Pablo Garcia, Diane Wemple, Randy Colucci and his wife Roberta, Susan Parenteau and her husband Ray and Kathi Powers and her husband Jeffrey. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, many nieces, nephew and many friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Sept. 6th, from 9:30am to 11:30am, with a Prayer Service at 11am, in the Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville. Burial will follow and scheduled for 12:30pm arrival, to the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mae’s memory to: Popcorn Zoo of Lacey Township, (https://ahscares.org/), would be appreciated.
