February 16, 1970 ~ September 4, 2023 (age 53) 53 Years Old

Obituary

Lynn Marie Lynch, 53, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home the morning of September 4th after a long battle with cancer. Born & raised in Bayonne, NJ Lynn attended Holy Family Academy, Saint Peter's College, and Jersey City State College for her BA in Early Childhood Development. Teaching third grade in Jersey City’s Alfred Zampella School, PS #27, Lynn found great enjoyment in caring and nurturing others. Lynn started a new chapter marrying Thomas J. Lynch on March 15, 1997. Newlywed, working, traveling, and enjoying their youth, Lynn & Tommy eventually moved to Bayville, NJ in the August of 2000. Lynn commuted to work in Jersey City to care for her students, until taking a break from teaching to become a mother in the Spring of 2001. After having her son, Andrew, she decided to become a full time mom. Lynn later returned to teaching, beginning as a substitute teacher in Berkeley Township in 2008, until working out a contract where she resumed full time teaching for two years at Bayville School from 2009-2010. Then, at the age of 49, Lynn decided to attend Ocean County College for her Associate’s Degree in American Sign Language (A.S.L.) Interpreting. Graduating with her degree in the Spring of 2022, Lynn consistently promoted awareness, education, and wellbeing as a caring and strong proponent for the deaf community. Lynn volunteered her time after graduation interpreting for the deaf community before being diagnosed with cancer in October of 2022. Never giving up, always dancing, and touting her love of life, Lynn was truly one of a kind. Tough as nails, sweet as pie, and pretty as a flamingo, Lynn will be dearly missed by all who knew her for her generosity, humor, self respect, unbelievable cooking, and love of the summertime.

Lynn is survived by her parents, Eileen & Richard Belden, younger siblings, Richard Belden & Beth Hudak, her devoted husband, Thomas, loving son, Andrew, and numerous caring in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.

A viewing for family and friends will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023 from 4pm - 8pm at Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd Bayville, NJ 08721.
