Lisa L. Pisano born on August 19, 1969, in Lakewood, NJ, and a long time resident of Ocean Gate, NJ and Bayville, NJ, passed away peacefully surrounded by friends and family on July 7, 2024. Lisa graduated from Central Regional High School in Bayville in 1987. She became a dedicated member of the Navy and Lisa served her country with honor before dedicating her life to her family and community.
Lisa was a hardworking and devoted mother and grandmother, always putting her family first. Her commitment to her loved ones was evident in every aspect of her life. Lisa worked as a manager at Wawa for many years and created lifelong friendships with both her customers and her co workers.
Lisa was a strong woman who fought through many of her health struggles. She enjoyed going to the boardwalk, cooking, watching wrestling and cooking shows, couponing and shopping with her daughter, spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. Her grandchildren were the light of her life.
Lisa is a hero to the medical community, inspiring others with her determination to survive and push the boundaries of treatment when becoming the first woman to receive a pig kidney transplant and a heart pump known as an LVAD. Sadly, she ultimately succumbed to her many health issues but will leave behind a legacy of determination and hope.
Lisa is pre deceased by her father Jack Vanpelt and her mother Marie Vanpelt, aunt Ruth Hawk, and uncle Paul Hawk. She is survived by her husband Todd Pisano, her daughter Brittany Rydel and her husband Philip, her stepsons Robert Pisano, Sean Pisano, and Blaine Pisano, her brother Michael VanPelt, her grandchildren Olivia and Nathan Rydel, her cousins Sherry Abrams, Clayton Creamer, Dwayne Creamer, and Steven Hawk.
A memorial celebration will be held on Saturday, July 13th from 2:00-4:00pm at Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville, NJ 08721.
