Kurt L. Meyer, 91, of Lanoka Harbor, NJ passed away on September 9, 2025. He was born in Jersey City; he lived in Union City before moving to Elizabeth where he was raised. He then lived in Scotch Plains for 20 years before moving to Bayville in 1984. Mr. Meyer was a self-employed general carpenter throughout the state for over 50 years. He proudly served his country in the US Army, serving overseas. Kurt enjoyed spending time with friends at the Coop, and also enjoyed being with his family, gardening, fishing, and his trips every Wednesday to Atlantic City with sister Chickie. He also found joy watching his grandson Bradley grow up.
He was predeceased by his first wife Nancy Davis, then his second wife Doris Syms, and also his third wife Sandra Bellvue. Additionally, he endured the loss of his son Jeffrey Meyer, and his brother Richard Meyer.
Surviving are his 3 children, Marisa Schoenfeld and her husband Scott, Cindy Watts and her husband Bruce, and Fred Remite and his wife Joanne. Also, surviving are his 7 grandchildren, Scott, Rebecca, Amy, Gregory, Carley, Cassidy and Bradley, and his sister Chickie Cerra.
A memorial gathering will be offered for relatives and friends on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 2:00-4:00pm, with a prayer service at 3:30pm and Military Honors at 3:30pm, at the Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville, NJ 08721.
