Kathleen Distefano Obituary

Kathleen DiStefano passed peacefully at home on December 22, 2021. She was surrounded by loving friends and family. Born on May 22, 1958, she was raised in Jersey City, and moved to Bayville when she was 13. In true Kathy fashion, she quickly began making friends around the neighborhood. She spent her free time babysitting, playing, and coaching softball. Graduating from Central Regional High School, she later married and raised 3 children in Pine Beach.

Kathy lived by example. She always stressed to her children that if you want something in this life you have to work hard for it. Her work ethic was admirable, working until her health no longer permitted. She was a paraprofessional at Central Regional for 21 years where she was endeared by staff and students alike. She was also a supervisor at JC Pennies for 19 years.

With a quick-witted sense of humor and chatty personality, Kathy made friends wherever she went. From coworkers who adored her, to the oncology nurses who frequented her hospital stays, she left her mark on everyone she came across. Even during her brave battle with breast cancer, Kathy still managed to bring smiles to the faces of those around her. Her absence will be felt by many. A people person, a social butterfly, the life of the party, Kathy wore many hats. However, none more important to her than Mom. Her children were her greatest source of joy. Kathy’s spirit will live on through them.

She is predeceased by her father, Daniel Kramer. She is survived by her mother, Mary Louise Kramer. Her children, Michael Steven and Danielle. Her siblings Daniel Kramer, Jane Novellino and Husband Rocky, Steve Kramer, and Robert Kramer and Wife Heidi. Her best friend Aris and many other nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Memorial Gathering for relatives and friends will be offered on Friday, Jan.7th, from 2-4pm and again 7-9pm at the Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville NJ 08721. A Memorial Mass will follow on Saturday, Jan.8th, at 11AM in St. Barnabas Church, 33 Woodland Road, Bayville NJ 08721.
