Joseph Scordato, 88 of Bayville, New Jersey passed away on August 27th 2024 at Villa Marie Claire in Saddle River, New Jersey after a short period of illness.
He was born on June 3rd 1936 to Grace and Dominic Scordato in Haledon, New Jersey and was the youngest of a large family. He married the love of his life Maureen and they went on to live in Wyckoff, New Jersey for many years, before moving to their retirement home in Bayville, New Jersey where they resided for 31 years.
Joseph was always a hard working man even at a young age. He also served his country in the Army National Guard. Shortly thereafter he went on to own and operate Scordato's restaurant in Paterson and Hawthorne, New Jersey with his two brothers Anthony and Richard for over 30 years before retirement. After his retirement he enjoyed traveling and exploring the world with his beloved wife Maureen. He was a selfless and loving family man who enjoyed spending time with his loved ones and creating special memories that will always be cherished throughout the rest of our lives.
Joseph was predeceased by his loving wife Maureen of 67 years as well as his brothers Jim, Richard, and Anthony. Joseph is survived by his two daughters Linda Trancucci and her husband Tom Trancucci, Lauren Patzelt and her husband Doug Patzelt, his seven grandchildren: Anthony and his wife Heidi, Dan and his partner Niki, Joe and his wife Danielle, Doug, Greg and his wife Maria, Ashley and her partner Nickolas , and Christopher. He had 8 great grandchildren and 2 on the way expected to be born in the months to follow. He had many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends as well. His surviving family consists of his sisters Margaret, Grace, and Rose.
Visiting hours for relatives and friends will be on Tuesday, September 3rd 2024 from 10-12pm at Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville, New Jersey, 08721. A service will be held at the funeral home at 11:30 am, followed by an Entombment which will be held at 12:30 pm at Ocean County Memorial Park, 1722 Silverton Road, Toms River, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of ones choice in his memory.
