John Michael Boyer, 62, of Bayville, New Jersey, passed away on January 14, 2026. He was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, and lived in Ocean County for most of his adult life.
John dedicated 20 years of his career to PSE&G before later working as a bus driver for Academy Bus Line and New Jersey Transit. Anyone who rode his bus will remember him for his sense of humor and lighthearted, joking nature.
John’s love for travel with his wife, Darlene, took him on cruises to many Caribbean islands each year. An avid fisherman, he also cherished spending his free days parked in the sand at Island Beach State Park with his fishing poles and a cooler close by. In recent years, he was often joined on beach trips and car rides by his beloved dog and companion, Oakley.
John was predeceased by his parents, Patricia and Clarence Boyer. He is survived by his loving wife, Darlene; her children, Lee and his wife Arletta, and Michelle and her husband Tim; daughters Danielle and Alyssa and his cherished grandchildren, Cymantha, Sienna, Abigail, and Colin.
Viewing for family and friends will be held on Monday, January 19, 2026 from 5:00-8:00pm at Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville, NJ 08721.
