James Francis Fosbre, Jr. 78, of Bayville, NJ passed on June 16, 2022, following a medical procedure. He was born in Plainfield, NJ and has lived many years in Bayville, NJ.
Jim proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He became a 2nd Degree Blackbelt in Isshin-Ryu Karate and went on to teach for many years including his children and grandchildren.
Jim owned and operated a successful securities and investment firm for over 50 years. He was active in many charitable organizations including the Beachwood-Berkeley Rotary Club and the Ocean County Library Association.
While there were so many admirable achievements in Jim’s life, none were as special to him as his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Jim is predeceased by his father, James F. Fosbre and his mother Lucy Fosbre. Surviving is his loving wife of 55 years Christine E. Fosbre, his children Kathleen Spurlock, Kelly (Fosbre) Grosse and son in law Thomas Grosse, James F. Fosbre IV, Kerry Fosbre and spouse Rafael Rivera, John M. Fosbre and daughter in law Danielle Fosbre. Jim is also survived by his seven loving grandchildren: Dr. Nick Spurlock, Jacob Brosen, Olivia C. Grosse, Julia C. Fosbre, John R. Fosbre, James F. Fosbre V, and Thomas J. Grosse.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd, Bayville, NJ 08721 from 2:00pm – 4:00pm & 6:00pm – 9:00pm.
A graveside committal service and burial will take place on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Neshanic Cemetery, 688 Amwell Road, Hillsborough, NJ 08844 at 12:00pm. Family and friends may meet at the cemetery prior to services.
