Ingrid Casella, 85, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 16, 2020 at Westminster Manor in Bradenton, Florida. She enjoyed her time there and made many friends. She loved playing cards & usually won!
Born in Manhattan, NYC to Karl Ernst Bollmann & Anna Christine Anderson. Ingrid was the eldest of their 5 children before they divorced. Her mother then took her siblings, & moved to Port Arthur, Texas. Ingrid graduated from Weehawken High School & was on the student council there. Ingrid married her husband, Wilfred Maddalena at the age of 16, on 8/23/1951. Their daughter, Christine Marie, was born 11/16/1953. They divorced 2/1/1959.
She later met and married Louis P. Casella 5/25/1961. They had two children, Lisa Pauline, & Louis Paul, Jr.
Ingrid was a wonderful & caring sister, good friend and mother. She loved her children, grandchildren, & other relatives. She was a hard worker & conscientious whether working as a waitress or bookkeeper at Burgdorff Realtors & Engineered Plastic Products. She lived in Millington, for 38 years. She & her husband were active in their community with the Sr. Citizen Center, & enjoyed calling bingo there. She was a member of VASA and served as a chairman for her term in Budd Lake. Ingrid also worked as a poll worker, & participated with CERT. She was an avid reader & a regular visitor of the library, where she started a book club. She & her husband enjoyed vacationing regularly at their 2nd home on West Point Island in NJ since late 1993. They moved to Bradenton, Florida in early 2016.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by ex-husband, Wilfred P. Maddalena (Constance), & sister Dorothy Gwenda Butler (Bill).
She is survived by her husband, Louis P. Casella, Sr., her three children, Christine Gordon (Orrin), Lisa Hayward (Brian), Louis Casella, Jr (Jennifer), all seven of her grandchildren, & her brother Karl Heinz Bollmann (Carol), sisters Martha Rooney (John), & Rosemarie Herring (Frank)
A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be offered on Sunday, May 10th, from 11am to 1pm at the Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville. Ingrid's cremains will be entombed in a coral reef to be placed in the ocean at a later date.
