Hunter Lee Schmidt, 17, of Rossville Kansas formerly of Ocean Gate, NJ. Born in Long Branch, lived many years in Manalapan and Ocean Gate and just recently moved to Kansas. Hunter was full of life, he loved spending time with his family and friends. Hunter was an avid outdoorsman and sportsman. He particularly enjoyed fishing, hunting and especially riding his dirt bike, and loved spending time working on his truck.
Predeceased by both of his grandfathers, Richard Schmidt and Michael Graves.
Surviving are his mother, Melanie Alburtus and husband James, his brother Anthony Boud and stepbrother Camden Alburtus, his father Christopher Schmidt and companion Jenn Lachcik along with her children Diego and Brooklyn, his grandmother Kathy Graves and his grandmother Mary Ann Schmidt, uncle Michael Graves and wife Stefanie, uncle Matthew Schmidt and wife Nancy, aunt Jessica Ferino and husband Scott, also his seven beloved cousins; Ryan, Lily, Thomas, Caroline, Henry, Parker and Greyson.
There will be a memorial service for Hunter on Friday, September 27, 2024, from 5pm-8pm at Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd, Bayville, NJ 08721. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday at St. Barnabas Church at 11am.
