Helen Rando (nee Heath), 84, of Bayville New Jersey passed away on June 26, 2025. She was born in the Bronx, New York and lived in Paterson and Little Falls, New Jersey before moving to Bayville in 1992. She attended Pope Pius XII in Passaic, New Jersey and attended William Paterson College.
Helen began her career as a stock and bond correspondent at AT&T and subsequently worked in banking for First Fidelity bank in Paterson and Manchester, and then for First Union, which became PNC.
Helen was known for her quick-wit and sassy flair. She loved to travel and host Sunday family dinners. She enjoyed participating in her book club and the ladies’ golf league. She was a member of Little Falls Athletic Club, Sonota Bay Homeowner’s Association, and the Red Hat Society. She also enjoyed volunteering for Habitat for Humanity Restore and The Golden Givers.
Helen was married to William Lambert from 1966 until his passing in 1981. She reconnected with a college classmate, Ronald Rando, and they were happily married from 1991 until Ron’s death earlier this year. She was also preceded in death by her parents John and Helen Heath, her brothers, Jack, Thomas, and Raymond Heath, her brother-in law Joseph Lambert, and sister-in-law Ursula (Pudgy) Heath.
She is survived by her children, Amy Lavender and her husband John, William Lambert, Ron Rando Jr. and his wife Donna, and Joseph Rando. Grandchildren Charlotte Lavender, Keith Rando, Vincent DiCanio, and Ashleen DiCanio, her sisters-in-law Claire Heath, Rachel Heath, Carol Lambert, and Catherine Rando as well as her many special nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Viewing for family and friends will be on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 from 6:00-9:00pm, at Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville, NJ 08721.On July 2, 2025 viewing will be from 9:30am-10:45am followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00am at St. Barnabas Church, 33 Woodland Rd, Bayville, NJ, then a Committal at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, 350 Province Line Rd., Wrightstown, NJ 08562.
