Harriet Mooney Obituary

Harriet J Mooney, 96, of Jackson passed away March 31 at Paul Kimball Medical Center. Born in Edwardsville, PA she was the daughter of the late Benjamin A. Jones and Harriet (Mills) Jones. Harriet grew up in Shavertown, PA where she married Edward J. Mooney and moved to north NJ. Harriet earned her LPN from Somerset County Technical Institute and worked as a nurse for several years before retiring with her husband to Bayville in 1984. 

Harriet was an eternal optimist, saw everyone as a friend and was always willing to help others. She enjoyed cooking, particularly baking, her wonderful cakes, cookies and pies were always the highlight of holiday meals. Harriet’s other favorite activities included reading, crocheting, traveling, and visiting with family. 

Harriet is survived by her daughter Patricia A. Kwiatkowski of Jackson and her son James Mooney and his wife Camellia of Toms River; her grandchildren Bonnie Kwiatkowski and Jim Laundre, Robert and Kelli Kwiatkowski, and Paul and Tiffani Kwiatkowski, Francesca Montenione, Lisa Mooney and Gracie and Allan Sanon; and her great-grandchildren Rigel and Deneb Laundre, Olivia and Michael Kwiatkowski, Brooke and Christina Small, Seth Kwiatkowski and Jacob Sanon.

She is predeceased by her husband Edward, her son David, her sister Charlotte Oley, and her brothers Benjamin and Alvin Jones.

Visiting hours will be Tuesday Apr 6th, from 4pm to 7pm with a service at 6:30pm at the Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Boulevard in Bayville. Burial and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers donations in Harriet’s memory to; Faith Community United Methodist Church, (faithcommunitybayville.org) in Bayville or to; the American Cancer Society (cancer.org), would be appreciated.
