With profound sadness, we announce the passing of a beloved mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth, selflessness, and strength touched everyone who knew her.

Born in Grindavík, she carried the beauty, resilience, and spirit of Iceland with her throughout her life. Later moving to the United States, she built a life centered around love, family, and devotion to those she cherished most.

She was a deeply creative soul who found beauty in the things many people may have overlooked. She loved thrifting, collecting meaningful treasures, and giving new life to forgotten things. She had a unique eye and appreciation for charm, history, and beauty in all its forms — a reflection of the warmth and creativity she carried within her.

She had a deep love for animals and a heart that was truly one of a kind. She was the most selfless person, always putting the needs of others before her own and making sure the people she loved felt cared for, supported, and welcomed. She treated all of her daughters’ friends as if they were her own children, opening her heart and home to anyone who needed comfort, guidance, or love.

She was preceded in death by her beloved father, Guðmundur Eggertsson.

She is survived by her loving mother, Margrét Guðmundsdóttir; her siblings, Johann, Anna, and Eggert; her former husband, Ron; her devoted daughters, Iris and her husband Ryan, and Rose and her husband Billy. She also leaves behind her treasured grandchildren, Camden, Cash, Rocco, and Jayden, her beloved granddoggy, Boot, who she adored, as well as many beloved family members in Iceland who will forever cherish her memory.

She will be remembered for her kindness, her strength through life’s challenges, and the unconditional love she gave so freely to her family. Her presence brought comfort, laughter, and warmth to those around her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.

Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing her love will remain with us always.

Entombment will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at 11:00am at Maplewood Cemetery in Freehold, 169 West Main St., Freehold, NJ 07728.
