Gregory C. Scalzo, 40 of Beachwood, went home to his Lord on November 28, 2024. Born in Toms River, he has been a lifelong resident of Beachwood. Greg was a 2002 graduate of Toms River South High School and played varsity football there all four years. He also attended courses for his degree at Ocean County College. Greg was a baker by trade and worked at OBCO doughnut shop in Toms River for many years and was presently working at Joe’s Bagels in Beachwood. Greg was a true animal lover and always went out of his way to protect and rescue all types of animals.
Surviving are his parents, Charles and Lynn and his sister Audra Scalzo. Also surviving is his loving Grandma Skiba and aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
The family will gather on Thursday, December 5th, at the Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville. from 9am to 10:30am then leave to celebrate an 11am Funeral Mass at St. Barnabas Church, 33 Woodland Road, Bayville. Burial will follow at Ocean County Memorial Park, 1722 Silverton Road, Toms River. In lieu of flowers, donations in Greg’s memory to: the Popcorn Zoo. 1 Humane Way, Forked River NJ 08731 (ahscares.org/popcorn-park), would be appreciated.
