Gloria A Fackenthal

Gloria Fackenthal, 80, passed peacefully on February 2, 2023 at the home of her son Joe and daughter-in-law Maureen. She was born and raised in Alpha, NJ but lived many years in Pine Beach where she raised her family. Gloria was the first female Police Officer in Ocean County, NJ, following that she was a private investigator, and she coached many soccer teams as her children were growing up. Gloria made many life-long friends in Pine Beach and in The Villages, FL where she lived for 25 years before returning to New Jersey.

Gloria loved music, hot air balloon rides, playing cards and traveling with her friends. But most of all she loved her family. She is survived by her four sons: Jim, John, Jeff and his wife Kimberlee, and Joe and his wife Maureen, her seven grandchildren: Danielle, Nicole, John, Alysha, Heather, Joe and Rebecca, her five great-grandchildren: Benjamin, Fredrick, Jackson, Sophia and Logan, and her very best friend in the world Dottie Zimmer. Gloria is predeceased by her husband John, her sister Veronica and her parents.

A Funeral Mass we be celebrated at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, Christ the King Parish,101 Chelsea Avenue, Long Branch NJ 07740, on Thursday, Feb. 16th @ 10:30am. Interment will on Friday, Feb. 17th @ 11am in St. Mary Church and Cemetery, 830 5th Avenue, Alpha NJ 08865. Mastapeter Memorial Home in Bayville is in charge of arrangements.
