Gladys T Elsman

Gladys Elsman (Magnusson) passed November 22, 2021.

Born December 28, 1917, in Newark, NJ, to parents Amelia (Stevens) and William Magnusson. Gladys grew up in Newark, graduating from Eastside Highschool, in 1935. Gladys met her life partner of 66 years, Robert, at Olympic Park Pool in Irvington, NJ. They were married January 15, 1939. They lived and brought up their five children, Geraldine Fawcett (husband Raymond), Barbara Kobberger (husband Ralph), Robert Elsman (wife Tracy), James Elsman (wife Jennie), and Karen Costello, (husband Peter), in Irvington, NJ. Gladys worked many years for the New Jersey Bell Telephone Company.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert, in 2005; her son Robert, in 2018, and daughter Karen in 2020. She was also predeceased by sister, Geraldine Lambdin, and brother William Magnusson.

Gladys enjoyed and was proud of her 16 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 26th, 2021 from 10am to 12pm at Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville, NJ 08721. Entombment will take place concluding the visitation to St. Joseph's Cemetery, 56 Cedar Grove Rd., Toms River, NJ 08753. Condolences can be sent to www.mastapetermemorialhome.com.
