Geraldine Nutile Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Geraldine (Gerri) D. Nutile, 75 of Bayville, NJ. On June 26, 2025, she peacefully passed away at home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Newark on July 25, 1949 to the parents of Doris (Dottie) Hague (nee Smith) and Michael Albruzzese. She grew up in Newark, Irvington and Piscataway. She lived in Irvington before becoming a long-time resident of Kearny, NJ with her loving husband Anthony of 40 years. There they raised their beautiful family together making a lifetime of memories. In 2008, they moved to Woodbridge where they resided for nine years before Anthony’s passing in 2017. After Anthony’s passing, Gerri moved to Bayville, NJ to be with family.

Through the years Gerri held a few noteworthy careers, She was a purchasing agent for Goodie Hair Products in Kearny until they moved the company out of state. From there she worked at various companies until becoming a leasing agent for Middlesex Management in 2007. She moved to Bayville, NJ in 2017 and eventually became a bus aide for the Berkeley Township School District until 2024.

Geraldine is survived by her daughter Danielle Smith (nee Dunn) and her grandchildren Allen Jr (predeceased), Matthew, Gianni and Allyson Smith of Bayville, NJ. Her son James Dunn III, his wife Tracey and her grandson Jackson Wilson of Sault Ste. Marie, MI. Her daughter, Kimberly Nutile Bodtmann, her husband Shawn, and her grandsons Jakob Bodtmann and Christian Bodtmannof Bayville, NJ. Her daughter, Jessica Buehler (nee Nutile), husband Adam, and her grandson Garrett Buehler of Hope Mills, NC. Also survived by her brothers Charles (Butch) Treihart of Sayreville, NJ and Joseph Hague of Blakely, PA. Her niece Doris von Schirach, her husband Gustav and her great-nephew Justin and great-niece Kayla of Bayville, NJ. In addition to loving family, she leaves behind lifelong friends and co-workers who she held dear to heart. She also leaves behind her loving pups that will miss her tremendously Liberty and Justice.

Geraldine is predeceased by her loving husband, Anthony (Tony) Nutile, her parents Doris (Dottie) Hague and Michael Albruzzese and her amazing grandson Allen Smith Jr., her sister, Dianne Marchuk, her brother John Engleman and many friends.

To know Gerri and all the roles she held in life…daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, friend…then you would already know that she was a very strong woman. She persevered in everything she did and while it may have seemed she had a tough exterior at times, she always had a loving, humorous, gentle, caring core. Her heart overflowed with love for her family. She raised her children to be resilient (like her) and face diversity with strength and courage ( like she had to at a young age). And that is exactly what they do. She loved her family fiercely and without reserve. Her pride and joys though were her treasured grandchildren. She made sure to try to make their sporting events and be their biggest cheerleader (and critic).

She will be sorely missed by everyone that knew her. We Love You. You will be missed forever. Until we meet again….
