Frederick M. Gaguski Jr. 78, of Bayville, NJ passed away on February 27th , 2025.
Fred is survived by his beloved wife, Rose, of 52 years, his three children, Rick and wife, Colleen, his daughters, Deb, and Pam and husband, Greg, his four cherished grandchildren, Luke, Shane, Jocelyn, and Will, and his sister, Linda and two nieces, Kelly and Christine.
Fred was born in Jersey City and grew up in Kearney before moving to Bayville in 1970. He served in the United States Navy as a diesel engine mechanic on board the USS Askari during Vietnam. He was employed by Jersey Central Power & Light for many years and finally worked at Oyster Creek Nuclear Plant as a certified welder until his retirement in 2009.
Fred’s many talents included creating and repairing fishing poles, woodworking, repairing almost anything that was broken and going fishing whenever the time was right. When he wasn’t spending time out back near the pool with his family or in the basement working on a project, he was relaxing in his recliner watching football, baseball or westerns on tv. On Christmas Eve, when our families got together to celebrate, he would put on his Santa Claus hat and pass out gifts to everyone.
He was an awesome father and grandfather. Known to his relatives as “Uncle Fred”, he loved and was loved by all of his nieces, nephews and extended family. He always had a joke and shared his jovial personality with everyone. He will be greatly missed.
Visitation for family and friends will be on Monday March 3, 2025 from 5:00-7:00pm at Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville, NJ 08721.
