Frank "Cosie" Costa, 69, of Bayville, NJ, died on Sunday, July 30, 2023. He was born in Jersey City to Joseph Costa and Mary, née Montemurno, and lived there until moving to Seaside Heights in 1969. He was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1988 and served with local congregations.
After graduating from William L. Dickinson High School in Jersey City, he became a bass player with the 1910 Fruitgum Company making music his lifelong career. He received his Associates Degree from Ocean County College and furthered his education with Trenton State College in Teaching.
Frank was predeceased by his parents and his sister Joanne Lurig. He is survived by wife of 40 years, Lynn and stepchildren Tammie, Ronnie, Wendi, Robert, four step-grandchildren, a niece and many cousins.
Services will be held at Mastapeter Memorial Home on August 19th at 2pm for a memorial service and a talk at 3:30pm.
“He is gone, but I'm thankful for all his soft, sweet things that he left behind in my home, in my head, in my heart. His song is ended, but the melody will linger on forever”.
Frank's song "The Sounds of Summer (the Benny song)", earned him notoriety on different local radio stations.
