Frances Vasta, age 93, of Manchester, New Jersey, passed away on January 10, 2026, with her daughter by her side. Frances came to the United States with her family when she was four years old, having been born in Italy. She married and moved from Brooklyn to New Jersey, finally moving to Manchester 23 years ago. She was a communicant of St. John’s Catholic Church in Lakehurst.
Frances filled so many roles with love and dedication. A daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, and especially friend. May her memory bring comfort and joy to all who were lucky to have known her.
A life well lived is a precious gift of hope, strength, love and grace. Frances Spampinato Vasta made our world a brighter, better, place with the sunshine of her smile. It’s filled with moments, sweet and sad, with smiles, and sometimes tears. With love and support and good times shared, and laughter through the years. A life well lived is a legacy of joy and pride and pleasure. A living lasting memory. Rest in peace, our dearest Frances.
Frances was predeceased by her loving parents, Dominick and Rose Spampinato, her beloved husband of 69 years, Raymond Vasta, and her dear son, Louis Vasta. Frances is survived by her daughter Rosemary Piatkowski, Anthony Vasta, son-in-law, Michael Piatkowski, grandchildren, Nicole Vasta, Maria Ratel, Brenden Gartner, and Raymond Vasta and their spouses. Frances, known by her great grandchildren and grandchildren as Mom Mom is also survived by great grandchildren, Kyle, Justin. Nathan, Jayli, Ryder, Maximus, Logan and Hunter.

Viewing for family and friends will be held on Friday January 16, 2026 from 8:30-10:30am at Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville, NJ 08721 followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00am at St. Barnabas Church, 33 Woodland Rd., Bayville, NJ 0872.
