Frances "Fran" Poindexter

On September 12, 2022, Frances “Fran” Poindexter, age 76 of Toms River, passed away after a quick, ferocious battle with cancer at Complete Care of Berkeley.

Born in Jersey City, NJ on November 22, 1945, Fran was the daughter of the late Marion and Robert Poindexter (nee Smith).  She was a graduate of North Bergen High School and a longtime resident of North Bergen, NJ.  Fran held administrative jobs by day while singing and playing her guitar in the evenings at various locations in Hudson and Union Counties, as well as Staten Island.  She loved to travel, attend concerts, and spend time with her wife and grandchildren.  She especially loved attending her grandchildren’s football games, musical concerts, and dance recitals. You could often find her relaxing on the back patio with a cold beer.

Predeceased by her mother, father and brother, Stanley LeQuin, as well as her brother in-law Michael Statkus and his wife Karen and brother-in-law Keith Brand.  Fran leaves behind her loving wife, Christine Statkus and their daughter Jacqueline Perri of Levittown, PA.   In addition, she is survived by 2 sisters-in-law, Pattie Statkus & Cindy Brand and her beloved grandchildren, Dominick Perri, Julianna Perri and Giana Pace.  She will be remembered fondly by her many nieces and nephews.

There will be a viewing for family and friends held on Friday, September 16, 2022, from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm at Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd, Bayville, NJ 08721. Cremation services will be private and for immediate family only.
