Ethel S. Moore

Ethel S. Moore, 88, of Toms River passed away on January 29, 2026. Born in Wilmington, Delaware she was raised in Southington, CT. After High School she moved to Hartford CT., and graduated from Hartt School of Music in Hartford, Ct., where she graduated with a Batchelor degree in music. She moved to Bridgewater, NJ when she married her husband Ken in 1958. Later she moved to Toms River to raise her family. 

Ethel taught piano in the area for over 30 years. Mrs. Moore was devoted to her family, with her main mission in life was to raise her children. Ethel had a great passion and love for all animals, especially cats. She was always taking in and caring for stray cats that somehow knew how to find her door. Her favorite past times were boating, skiing, dancing, reading, dining out and attending to her plants in her garden.  

Later in life Ethel moved to Red Bank, NJ where she met her longtime companion, Tom Rexdale. Later they moved back to Toms River, NJ so Ethel could be closer to her family.  

Ethel is predeceased by her husband Kenneth Moore in 1996, by her two sons, Guy and Kenneth Moore, and also her longtime companion Thomas Rexdale. Surviving are her two children, Grieg Moore and his wife Jennifer, and Sheridan Moore and her partner Bill, six grandchildren, Grieg and his wife Ashley, Samantha, Emily, Olivia, Caitlin, and Jordyn and her companion Ed, also five great grandchildren Johnny, Teighan, Lucian, Madeline, and Peyton, and her sister Sheila Simone.  

Services are private and under the direction of Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville, NJ 08740.
