Ernest H Tomaio Jr.

Ernest Tomaio Jr., 94, of Whiting, NJ passed away on February 15, 2026. Born in Garwood, NJ and lived many years in Whiting, NJ and Clermont, FL. He worked as a heavy equipment operator in Operating Engineers Local #825 for over 30 years. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Ernest enjoyed bowling, golf and country music, tapping his foot to Willie Nelson till the very end. Most of all, he loved RVing across the country with his wife of 70 years, uncovering every nook and cranny of the “open road” making lifelong friendships and spending countless hours with family along the way. He was always itching to be "on the road again".

Ernest is predeceased by his parents Ernest H. Tomaio Sr. and Rose Colucci, his sister Marion DelConte and brother Donald Tomaio.

Surviving is his wife of 70 years Grace, his children Ernest and wife Donna, Lori LeFaucheur and husband Marcel, five grandchildren Jessica Batemen and husband Ben, Jamey Foldhazy (Hannah), Luke Foldhazy ( Melissa), Haylie Foldhazy, and Hayden Foldhazy and wife Paola, four great-grandchildren Charlotte, Emery, Lila, Davin and sister Carol D’Achino.

Burial will be on Friday April 17, 2026 at 12:30pm at Brigadier General W.C. Doyle Vet. Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road., Wrightstown, NJ 08562. A Celebration Of Life for Mr. Tomaio will be on April 18, 2026 from 1:00-5:00pm at Crestwood Village Co-Op 4, Independence Hall, 15E Moccasin Dr., Whiting, NJ 08759.
