“Eleanor Bertha Kozal, 89, of Bayville, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2026.
Eleanor was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose love, kindness, and unwavering faith were the cornerstones of her life. A dedicated homemaker for most of her years, she also spent time working at a local daycare, where she found joy in caring for children. She especially loved baking for her family and friends, creating countless cherished memories through the treats she made and the love she poured into them.
A faithful Catholic, Eleanor’s relationship with God guided her throughout her life. She found great comfort and peace in attending Mass at St. Barnabas Church and remained deeply devoted to her faith. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, selfless heart, and the unconditional love she shared with her family.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Forman Kozal, in 2022, and by her brothers, George, John, Michael, Andrew, Joseph, William, and Michael “Sunny.”
She is lovingly survived by her sister, Mary; her sons, Michael (Karen) and Allen (Michelle); her cherished granddaughters, Carly, Erica, Dana, Stephanie, and Rhiannon; her beloved great-grandson, Wesley; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
While her family will miss her deeply, they find comfort in knowing she has been reunited with her beloved husband and loved ones and is now at peace. Her legacy of faith, love, kindness, and devotion to her family will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, July 23, 2026 from 9:00-10:45am at Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville, NJ 08721. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00am at St. Barnabas Church, 33 Woodland Rd., Bayville, NJ, followed by a Burial at St. Gertrude Cemetery, 53 Inman Ave., Colonia, NJ 07067.
