Edward LaGreca, 69, of Forked River passed away on December 16, 2022, Born in New York City, he grew up in the Bronx, lived many years in Closter, NJ and lived in Bayville for 37 years before settling in Forked River. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1972 until 1975. He served as an Airman (E-3) aboard the aircraft carrier USS America.
Edward worked as a butcher all his life. He started his apprenticeship for his father at Jack’s Meat Market and later worked as the meat manager for Kings Supermarket for 34 years. He then ended his career working for Shop-Rite.
He was an avid Mets fan, he enjoyed his trips to Las Vegas and Atlantic City, he enjoyed vacationing and traveling to tropical islands, but most of all he enjoyed his time with his family and especially his beloved grandchildren.
Mr. LaGreca is predeceased by his parents Jack & Gloria LaGreca, his brothers, Charlie and Jamie LaGreca, his godson Burt “Buddy” Kuhlmeier and his brother-in-law Burt Kuhlmeier
Surviving are, his wife of over 45 years Victoria LaGreca, his three children, Dawn Lynch and her husband Robert, Edward LaGreca Jr. and his wife Heather, and Jodi Giraud and her husband Aaron, his seven grandchildren, Bobby, Savannah, Jackson, Sophie, Brinley, Colin and Sadie, His seven siblings and their spouses, Jaqueline, John (Debbie), Thomas (JoAnne), (Missy), Paul, Gloria (Jimmy), Debbie (Billy), and Mary (George), his Uncle Richie (Nancy). Also surviving are many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
There will be a viewing on Monday, December 19, 2022, from 4-7pm at Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd, Bayville, NJ 08721. Funeral services will begin at 9:30am in the funeral home on Tuesday, December 20th before leaving to celebrate an Funeral Mass at 11am at St. Barnabas Church in Bayville, NJ.
