Edward L. Helmick, 70, of Bayville, went home to Jesus on April 15, 2018. A beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. Mr. Helmick proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War and was decorated for his valor in action. Ed was also an accomplished fly fisherman. He had been employed for many years at the Ocean County Board of Social Services in Toms River.
Surviving are; 4 children, Christopher, Marti, Victoria Hayduk and her husband Michael and Joshua; also he is survived by 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be Thursday, Apr. 19th, from 7pm to 9pm, with a Prayer Service at 8:30pm, in the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville.
Burial will take place at the Brig. Gen. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home at 8:45am on Monday, April 23rd. Funeral procession will leave at 9:00am for the cemetery. Services will be held in the cemetery chapel at 10:00am.
